What I want from photography.

For the longest time, I’ve felt like I’ve needed to make a return on my investment into photography. This thought process has slowly eroded my creative process, and what I truly enjoy about photography which is to just be happy with what I’m creating.

Just looking at black and white photos lately has given me a lot of joy, and has helped me think more about the image I’m creating.

I love taking photos, let me be more specific. I love taking photos of things that interest me. I love taking photos for me. I love taking photos of things that excite me, that help me feel excited to pull out my camera and capture. Maybe it won’t interest everybody, but the only one I truly want to appeal to is myself.

This is just a photo of my dog in black and white, but the reason I took this photo is because I wanted to see if I could capture a mood. He’s just chilling in the sun, but with the way the light was and the body language, I just felt the need to take a photo. That’s what I want and enjoy, the feeling of “I need to take this photo!”

Anyways if you’ve read this thanks, I just wanted to log my thoughts and feelings more.
